[ on the morning of the 25th, diana will find a heavy package on her doorstep, wrapped in simple brown paper and tied with a gold ribbon and bow. inside are three books - two history tomes, one for wyver, and one for olympia, as well as a lovely illustrated volume of nysan folk and fairy tales. also, several sheets of parchment bound together with twine, alisaie's handwritten notes copied over onto fresh paper, detailing all she has learned since awakening here, from the names and duties of the natha she has met or heard of, as well as important figures (npcs) she has learned about in both wyver and olympia, to rough, hand-drawn star charts.
the bulk of the pages, however, are filled with her notes on the flora and fauna of all the regions she has visited here, with large checkmarks beside those she has encountered personally, and also those she is familiar with from home. some of them have accompanying sketches, but her skills are rough at best, and give only a general idea.
last but not least is a small tin of ginger cookies cut into cute little shapes (stars, trees, birds, bells), and a folded note: ]
How fortunate I was to receive a secret beneficiary with whom I am already familiar. I hope these volumes are to your liking, and the cookies as well - I am not terribly good in the kitchen, but I am getting better, so hopefully you will not find them inedible.
Happy Starlight, my friend.
- Alisaie

[Randomly, without any warning, Diana will receive an influx of selfies of America's Favorite Wizard all with different filters on them. Is he just sending these to random numbers. Is it anyone he suspects of magic. Whomst knows.]
Oh, well, you know, Taako: Magical Delights and Mystery Solving. That's me. Also it was pretty much a simple matter of spamming every magic user around. Helps that you type like you swallowed a dictionary, homedog.
Pess is the cutest dog. Thank you. I think I need to buy him a new cravat soon. I was hoping to be able to match with him. Do you think the Silk Wyrm would be able to commission a doggie-sized jacket?
I see. I'm Miles Edgeworth. I was texting my best friend and suddenly got connected to you? There must be some sort of connection issue on the network...
This is Diana, correct? Are you well, and have you made it up to the station safe and sound? Things have been rather chaotic lately, so pardon my nosy message, but I was wondering about you...
This is Asseylum. I apologize for contacting you all of a sudden. I'm glad to hear you are all right, more or less. I, too, made it out relatively unscathed.
Well, compared to some folks, who boldly faced Yseverai himself in battle. I merely helped evacuees find a safe place to hide, so the only wounds I sustained were as minor as cuts and scrapes.
I see. I would hate for you to think that your role was any less critical, though. Helping refugees and evacuees meant that those combating the dragon could do their jobs without worry.
Regardless, did you need something? Is there something I can do for you?
Devaluing my role would be like devaluing the role of all the other brave people who took efforts to ensure the refuge of others. No matter where we were, there was always the possibility of danger. If everyone scurried off to fight the dragon, I think there might be more casualties.
I do not require anything in particular. I think I got what I wanted, which was the reassurance that you are here and well.
Oh, it's fine! I haven't used mine very much until just recently, but I figured now was as good a time as any to play around with its functions.
Overall, I am fine, if not... understimulated, to put it one way. Life on El Nysa was so lively that when I find myself in a space station, I run out of things to do so quickly. Then I find myself worrying about what will happen next.
I can certainly understand that. I managed to acquire something of a (very small) personal library of books from down on the planet, and I've been reading them. So it's been... manageable, I suppose.
Have you tried the simulators? They're very realistic.
That's nice to hear. Getting lost in an interesting book sounds like a good way to pass the time. What sorts of books have you been reading?
I have tried them, and they're so realistic, I thought I might perish of frostbite! I suppose they would not be nearly as effective as training programs if the chill wasn't so biting, but how harsh! I must toughen up!
That said, I made my first snow angel! It got covered up shortly after I made it by a fresh new blanket of snow, but...
Histories, for the most part. I'm curious about the past of the place we call home. Unfortunately, I haven't found anything beyond what most of us already know.
Did you not come from a place with snow before, Your Highness?
That seems like a sensible topic to read about at a time like this. Hopefully even the smallest fact you stumble across sheds some more light on the situation.
There was snow, technically speaking, but no blankets of it that cover the ground. When it snowed, it came in sudden bursts, and more often than not, the crystals would sublimate before they ever reached the surface.
secret santa; (sorry im late!! )

I hope you're getting use out of the books, or amusement out of the mirror.

Date: 2018-01-28 01:14 am (UTC)It was something of an experiment in enchantment on my end.
I could certainly try, however. My only concern is that I would have no idea if our types of magic are mutually compatible.
